Lymington and Pennington Town Council are seeking an integrated architectural, engineering and cost consultancy team for Lymington Sea Water Baths Restoration Project.

The Grade II Listed Baths have significantly deteriorated since they first opened in 1833 and the National Lottery Heritage Fund is providing £154,800 to support the development of the technical, design and cost evidence to revitalise the site and improve operations.

£120,000 has been provided for Phase 1 to allow the appointed team to coordinate the feasibility work that will be required to make proposals for Phase 2.

The council requesting that architectural, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, marine and environmental consultancy, quantity surveying and technical survey services are all surveyed to better understand how one of the UK’s oldest surviving open-air sea water bathing sites can be protected for future generations.

A breakdown of works – covering the structural deterioration, saltwater exposure, infrastructure and accessibility issues - has been provided by the council and is available to view here.

The tender will be awarded on experience, capability and understanding of the heritage asset and importance to the community.

Three other tenders are also available as the Council seek to find a heritage consultant, project manager/ major Bid project director and Consultation and Engagement consultant.
